Now it is official. I have cut the grass for the very first time in 2009. It is SPRING. Cutting the grass means the growing season is truly upon us. The chick weed is in full bloom, the dandelions and that thistle weed is growing .. well .. like weeds. There are green shoots on the roses, the Japanese Snowball tree has tiny flower formations, the climbing roses are bursting with new leaves and the weeping cherry tree will be in full bloom very soon. There you have it all the plants in the front garden. Now to plan the annuals. Oh…. it is quite warm, a ‘no’ jacket day. Across the street Mary’s lilacs are forming little buds. Hopefully, Pam’s lilacs will be spared anymore storms. Here is to massive lilac blooms for Pam!
Family – I ordered some spring dresses and a new sweater for Mama today. She will be sitting pretty drinking her mochas.
On the “if you do not have anything to do and want to fill your mind with information,” I found a website in England call The Phrase Finder. I love it. Check it out at www.phrases.org.uk Just love to find out the origins for sayings, phrases and folk lore. Don’t you?
.. summer evening..
Steve & Aleha took this photo on their summer travels in Europe, July 16, 2003. I think Germany. I think Berlin but I am not sure. So many great cities have a river running through it.
If you ever get a chance to visit Ottawa, our fair capital city, go. It is beautiful. Oh, there are so many places to see…… dreaming of travelling to more fair cities!
Enjoy your evening.
UPDATE: THIS IS A PHOTO OF BUDAPEST NOT BERLIN. MY APOLOGIES TO THE PEOPLE OF HUNGARY & GERMANY. ONE DAY WE WILL SEE BERLIN AND BUDAPEST FOR OUR SELVES. SOOOOO.. MANY BEAUTIFUL PLACES TO SEE.
